“O God, you are my God whom I seek; for you my flesh pines and my soul thirsts like the earth, parched, lifeless and without water.”
I couldn’t help but think of Jesus, during those hours he suffered so intensely for us on the Cross. Did He pray this psalm? Did He seek His Father in His hours of greatest need?
The end of the psalm is a song of joy as it states: “The king, however, shall rejoice in God;” so at least there was some comfort for Our Lord, knowing that there was joy awaiting Him.
