The reflection today was from Isaiah chapter 43, verses 1 -7. I followed the instructions as far as reading the material.
My strongest thought or feeling from this prayer was to assuage my worries about perseverance. I pray often, though not each day, that the Lord will help me retain my faith until the end of my life. Because I had walked away from the faith twice during my life for different reasons, I don’t want to do that anymore. I am nearing 70. There isn’t that much time left in my life. I want all of that time to be spent loving the Lord.
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you, when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you….” Reading this passage, I felt as though God would be with me through whatever trials lie ahead for me, that the problems I will face will not overwhelm me. I hope this is so.
My heart rested when I read that “everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made” will be with the Lord for all eternity.
