Oremus – Week 1 Summation

Jeremiah 29:11-14  God is a hidden God who wants to be found by us. He has plans and desires that we thrive, seek Him and come to know Him. God is waiting for us to open our hearts to a relationship with Him.

John 15:1-17 Jesus speaks of the connection between Him and the Father and between Him and us. If we stay firmly connected to Jesus, we glorify the Father, who in turn, will answer our prayers. Jesus chose us to be His friends, to thrive and grow and be open to a relationship with the Father through Him.

These two reflections tell us something about God and what He wants for us.

Psalm 139:1-18 Though God is hidden from my senses, He sees me; He knows me down to the last molecule. He formed me in the dark of my mother’s womb. There is nowhere I can go that God wouldn’t be able to find me. Though I cannot see, touch or feel God, He is right here beside me, loving me and sustaining my life.

Romans 8:22-27 The Spirit helps us to pray and intercedes for us, for we do not know how to pray as we should.

Romans 8:31-39 If God is for us, who has any hope of being against us? Jesus died for us – will He let us go? or let someone snatch us out of His Hand? Because Jesus loves us, nothing in all creation can defeat His plans for us or separate us from God.

These three reflections tell us that nothing can stand in the way of finding God. He even assists us to find Him and communicate to Him through His Spirit.
Psalm 63 This is a prayer of someone who loves and seeks God. Only finding God can comfort the pray-er. God’s love is all to him.
