At the Adoration Chapel yesterday morning, I was looking at a vase of roses before the Monstrance. There were roses in the vase, some of the roses were standing straight, having not unfolded yet. Others were past their prime with their blooms bent over and drooping. I had the following thought as I looked at the roses:
A rose in bloom lifts its face to God, giving its sweet fragrance and beauty to God’s creation. But when the rose’s blooming is done, she bows her head in homage to her Creator who has given her life.
Is that what we are all called to do?
