Last Saturday morning I set the sprinklers on for a few hours, one in the front by the citrus trees and one in the back where the roses and Mexican sage are planted. After I had come indoors to make my breakfast, I decided to check to make sure the back sprinkler was not “raining” on the dining room windows. The well water is very hard and I did not want the hardness to settle on the windows. I looked down at the water spray and saw something small, seemingly struggling in the water on the sidewalk. On closer inspection I realized that it was a hummingbird getting a shower in the water from the sprinkler. I could barely make out little legs, so I thought he might be having trouble extricating himself from the water. As I pondered what I could do to help, the hummingbird hopped away from the spray, leapt into the air and flew off.
What a joyful sight it was to watch. Thank you heavenly Father for providing that beauty to me.
